Old photograph of pleasure gardens and main entrance to the beach Prior to 1921 Severn Beach was a popular resort for people who could visit by cycle or motor cycle. The building of the GWR railway station in 1922 gave access to the resort to a larger number of people. Its popularity as a resort continued through the 1930's,1940's and 1950's.
